We left Atlanta on Sunday and have officially finished our first week on the Race.
This month we’re working at a World Vision camp in Lehze, Albania. These kids are hilarious. Every week we’ll get a new group of children to meet and interact with. Meet my friends:
Batman, Tiger, Superman, and Jackie Chan!
It’s not bad here. We get to sleep and live like campers: bunk beds, running hot water, 3 meals, 2 snacks. On the weekends there is a beach nearby and the city isn’t too far. I think all the racers agree that we are definitely getting spoiled this month. We're constantly reminded that it won't get better than this haha.
Room. Squatty Potty Shower. <Not too shabby and very convenient>
(Though I did drop my only razor down the squatty last night…)
When I get to places like this, I love that I get time to ponder on everything God is. He is my provider, my redeemer, my confidant, an amazing artist, a loving father, a friend. God not only loves me and sent His Son to provide a way for me to spend eternity with Him, but God actually likes me. He sends sweet nothings my way just to see me smile and thank Him. He gives me blessings and gifts just for me to enjoy Him in praise. Like a lover pursues his beloved, God pursues the hearts of those He loves.
My one desire is to know God. I don’t want to be stuck in a legalistic rigid religion but I also don’t want to go fru fru feely worshiping on an emotional rollercoaster. I want to know and love God for all He is, with my complete mind, body, and soul. Bring it on Albania!
