It's been a minute since I've posted anything…so, sorry about that. Stuff has been a little nuts lately, but I figured it's time to give an update on the happenings of my life and the travel preparations, however mundane they may be. I will speak more about how I'm doing with regard to my last post, but for now, the necesary bits.

First things first: I started the vaccination process today!

…which was brutal. I received a total of six shots and had my blood drawn twice, and also received a prescription for malaria medication. None of this will be covered by my insurance, and it's going to cost me a not so pretty penny. Prayer regarding this particular situation would be great, because I have no idea where this money will come from.

Speaking of having no idea where money will come from, I also need to have my travel insurance purchased and flights to training camped booked in two weeks. I have a strange peace about all of it, or perhaps it is just naivete…

but either way, it's crunch time, and I've gotta figure out how I'm going to procure these things (and soon). Prayer, prayer, prayer, pleeease. It's going to take some sort of small miracle to make this all happen. Like I said, I'm honestly not that stressed about it all, but perhaps I should be.

As far as fundraising goes, I am currently in the process of planning a house show to help raise some more funds. I have secured a few of my wonderful musician friends to play, and am excited to involve my friends and the greater community in this way. They are good friends, and it's a good community, and I want them to be active in this process with me in a way that is accessible to them. Listening to good music in my backyard with the chickens clucking in the background while we feast on some delicious potluck food is absolutely the most ideal way to fundraise…in my opinion.

Ahhh, I have zero profound/pseudo-profound things to say this time around. Too tired. Long story short;

Life is hectic,

I need a lot of money that I don't have,

and my arms hurt,

but it's all a part of the process.  And as annoying, painful, and confusing as it might get, I am confident that I will find it nothing short of completely worth it once I step off the plane into our first country and realize that I am beginning the most incredible adventure of my life.
