Many of you have been asking questions about the G42 Leadership School in Mijas, Spain that I’m attending until the end of October. I’ll be honest, I haven’t done the best job at explaining to all my incredible supporters fully what G42 is all about. I’ve written a couple random blogs here and there and an odd story about a guy in a warehouse, but haven’t actually talked too much about where I am and what you’re supporting! So here are a few answers to some of your questions…  



What is G42?
G42, or the 42nd generation, is a network of Christ-followers with the mission to plant churches, businesses, & ministries to spread the Kingdom of God around the world  to inspire and develop leaders & radicals who are passionate about laying their lives down for Christ.


 

Who is the 42nd generation?
If you trace the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1, you only count 41 generations, yet the bible insists that there are 42 generations listed (3 sets of 14 from Abraham to David to Christ Jesus).  So, is the bible wrong? Or do we just need to understand something more?  Well, without going into details we believe that the 42nd generation is Christ formed in His church today.  It is you and it is me.  It is an inter-generational generation. And, we, as the body of Christ, have the responsibility, authority and power to share Christ with the world To bring His Kingdom ‘on earth as it is in Heaven’. 
 

What is the atmosphere of the G42 Leadership Academy in Mijas, Spain?

At the leadership academy, we are challenged to dream, to make a plan and say AMEN.  We believe that God has sent us out into the world to bring his love, order, peace and healing to a chaotic, broken world.  Our mission: to plant churches, ministries and businesses in order to spread His Kingdom around the world. With Christ formed in us, our imagination is God’s playground. 

Rather than relying solely on academic information, we focus on impartation and sharing our lives together.  By living in community and true discipleship, we have the unique opportunity to learn from each other’s success and failure.  It is a positive and inspirational environment where we believe in each other and desire to help one other see our dreams and visions come true! 


The founder of G42 is an Englishman named Andrew Shearman. I found this short clip of him speaking on Youtube and thought I would share it to give you an idea of what he’s like. He can be… um, quite passionate when he speaks. He sets the spirit and direction of G42 and provides the foundational teaching for us here in Mijas.      

I have a little over a month left here at G42, but am behind on my financial requirements. I still owe about $2,000 and really don’t want to be in debt to G42 when I return home.
