I’m writing to you because I have exciting news! I will be embarking on an incredible journey called The World Race in September 2015!   (www.theworldrace.org). This eleven month mission trip will take me to eleven countries (Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) and allow me and my team to do a variety of ministry while we live out of backpacks.  We will be challenged and will grow in our walk with the Lord.

I am currently in nursing school in Springfield, MO and will finish the program in July 2015. It has been a long journey to get to where I am, and the Lord has been so gracious through it all. I am blessed to have a job at Mercy Hospital as a Cardiovascular Tech; I have had some amazing hands-on health care experiences that go along with my schooling.

My heart for the Nations began when I was young, and it developed even more after living in Botswana with my family my last two years of high school. I love helping, serving and investing in others, and the Lord has placed missions in my heart to go along with these actions.

Adventures In Missions (AIM) is the organization that sponsors the World Race. (www.adventures.org) During the World Race, my team and I will be involved in many ministries that range from prayer walking, construction, and visiting orphanages to ministering to sex-trafficking victims, teaching English and more. Not only will I be reaching out to others, but I will also have the opportunity to experience discipleship and spiritual growth in my own life. I am expecting to be broken down by the Lord and want Him to work on areas of my heart that I may not know need working on – expecting to be healed by His love and grace. Before my departure, I will experience 10 days of training in Gainesville, GA, so I will be more prepared for what is to come on the journey as well as meet my teammates face-to-face.

As I started to pursue this journey, it sounded so exciting.  After much prayer over several months, I felt the Lord was calling me to do this. It was hard for me to determine if it really was the Lord’s calling or if my love for adventure was what made me feel this was for me. I decided that through prayer, scripture reading and feedback from others, the Lord would help me know. It was hard to wait for His timing in all this. As time approached for me to apply for the World Race, a fear began to grow in me – a fear that the Lord would say, ‘Not now’. After a month into this process with applying and interviews, the Lord revealed to me that He IS calling me to do this.

My desire is that the Lord will use me in the lives of those I come into contact with as well as using them in my life. I desire to make a difference in furthering His Kingdom and to be able to share the love that I have received from the Lord on a daily basis! I long to learn from this experience and forever carry with me all the Lord desires to teach me.

I would love if you followed me on this journey and participated in supporting me either in prayer or financially or both.  You see, I have to raise a total of $16,256 – this covers all of my field expenses over my 11 months. I must have a total of $7,500 by 21st August 2015 and $11,000 by 4th December 2015. My last deadline for the full amount is 4th March 2016.

My one request is that you would prayerfully consider supporting me financially. Your contribution towards this World Race Journey allows me to love on orphans, share the Lord’s love with those trapped in prostitution and bring a light into dark places. Thank you so much!

Sincerely,
