The World Race is a long journey… it will be not only exciting but also taxing. To summarize what I expect out of this 11 month long endeavor is simple:
I expect to:
Loose myself completely and rediscover myself in Jesus
Be beat down, ripped apart, and pieced together through Jesus.
Be a foundation layer, a framer, a roofer, and an interior decorator in the temples of the living God (1 Corinthians 3:10). “By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.”
Leave a legacy. Of Faith, of love, of hope. For the people at home, For my journeyman and teammates, and For the people I am directly ministering to.
Create change in the world. More than anything change I help create, I expect to be changed at God Speed.
And Finally, I expect to be surprised, stunned, enamored, and speechless at the things I see and I experience. God is going to change the world and me in ways far greater than I can imagine myself. God is going to reveal his majesty and glory to me through the things I see and through the things I do … but God will not do it in my time or in line with my expectations. I expect to be turned upside down with Awe at His majesty.
