I have this friend named John and He’s a pretty awesome guy.
He likes eating street food that may or may not make him sick. He loves to cook any and all types of food. He can speak Tagalog (Filipino). And he is an awesome sketch artist.
Another special thing about John are his eyes. They could be blue or brown or orange, quiet honestly I haven’t paid any attention to what they actually look like because their appearance isn’t why they’re so awesome. It’s what John does with his eyes that make them great. John’s eyes see like no one else’s can.
John sees people for who they really are instead of who they’re pretending to be or even think they are. He sees gifts and beauty and truth in them; he sees the astounding and unique attributes Christ has given individuals.
He has eyes that observe and see the world around him in a way that most others cannot. He doesn’t see who people can be and love them for their potential. He doesn’t see who people want you to see and love them for that. John sees exactly who people are and he loves people for that.
John does more than just see. John shares. John tells people what he sees in them in his own unique way. He draws pictures of the qualities he sees and gives them out or he quietly and humbly encourages those qualities in people.
Everybody in the body of Christ has a specific role to play. The feet can’t work without the legs and the head can’t stay up without the neck. John isn’t the hands, or the feet, or the stomach, or the ears.
John is the eyes on the body of Christ and he plays a crucial and unique role in the Body.
John is still working on fundraising for the race and it is already past the deadline. Please consider helping John finish his race fully funded!
