For those of you who didn’t realize it, the holiday season just ended! Good bye Thanksgiving, and Christmas, 3 Kings Day, Hanukkah, and any other holiday I missed. This is sad not only because it means school starts up again but also because Christmas is over. Christmas is my my favorite holiday. Let me tell you why!

Christmas for 12!

Christmas for 12 people.

I’d like to tell you about my favorite part of Christmas.

Don’t get me wrong getting Christmas presents is Great, but I don’t really like surprises… However, I LOVE giving gifts!!

For example: This year I got to give 2 gifts in 1! I donated sports equipment and books to Restore International and Bob Goff sent me a signed copy of his book Love Does! I gave it to Andy (my brother) for Christmas. Bob Goff is his favorite author and Love Does is his favorite book!

My Brother Andy is the Blonde.

Gift giving excites me because giving gifts shows how much you love that person. It’s not about the price tag or how big or small the gift is. Gift giving is a representation of Love. Even God shows His love for us through gift giving. “God so LOVED the world that He GAVE His only begotten son” (John 3:16a). God loves us so much he sent Jesus and sacrificed Him so that “whoever believe in Him shall not perish but have Eternal Life” (John 3:16b). God shows his love for us through giving just as we show our love for our fellow man by giving to them.

This year, I gave my brother a gift that will collect dust and deteriorate over time. It is just a thing. The gifts God gives us last much longer. He gave us His son and that gift lasts and eternity, all we have to do is accept it. He also gives us intangible gifts too – talents, skills, passions, ect. God has taken great care to formed me (and you). The things I am good at and the things I love are all gifts from Him to me [or you].

He has uniquely and perfectly designed me to fulfill a specific purpose. Part of my purpose is to go on the World Race. God made me to be a beacon in the dark. I was uniquely formed to be a Lighthouse standing on the cliffs piercing light into the storms of life throughout the world.

God has uniquely and perfectly formed you for your own unique purpose. Not everyone is called to go on the World Race but everyone is called reach “Jerusalem [your neighborhood], and Judea [your country] and Samaria [neighboring nations] and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). Were you designed to be a Lighthouse? A Ship? Or A Lighthouse Keeper?

Has God made you a Lighthouse Keeper? Are you called to light the Lighthouses and help send their beacon out into the world? Is God asking you to support me and my World Race Mission? Are you a Lighthouse Keeper? If you are a Lighthouse Keeper and would like to support me please click the Support Me! link on the left side of your screen. God will bless you through your faith and giving. As Lighthouse Keeper you are directly impacting the world through your faith.
