A lot of people’s number one worry/stress about going on the World Race is fundraising. Yes, I have felt this. I’ve asked, “How will I get this done?” “Where will the money come from?” “Is it even possible?” “And what if I have to come home because I’m not funded enough.” But more than that, I’ve been at peace about fundraising.
When I signed up for this my dad’s first reservation was where will the money come from. I always knew the answer was God!! From the moment I saw the cost, I knew that if God called me he would also provide for me.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a lot like the disciples in this regard. They went out fishing one night and they couldn’t catch any fish. They were casting their net in search of fish, but no fish were biting. As day started to break a man on the shore asked them if they had any fish and I’m certain they were very excited to be asked this question. After saying no, the man said to them “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.” (John 21:6)
This was a pretty ridiculous thing for someone to tell them. They were about 100 yards from shore and they were fishing for small fish. But they cast their net on the other side of the boat and caught 153 large fish (John 21:12)!! You see, the disciples were fishing on the wrong side of the boat, at the wrong time, and God still provided them, in essence, the wrong fish!! And not just the wrong fish but an abundance of them!
When Peter realized it was Jesus on the shore he jumped out of the boat and swam toward his Lord with gratitude. Jesus had provided for them.
Right now, God is providing for me to go on this mission trip and bring light to the World. People I never expected to donate have donated a great deal! One fundraiser idea doesn’t go as well as I planned, but then somehow God shows up and brings in the funds anyway!

I recently did a fundraiser where some wonderful people and I helped me work the Winter Jam concert! The number of people willing to help was crazy!
The babysitting raffle I am running has had a good number of supporters! And people in my church family and community are finding ways to help me raise funds! Some people asked me to babysit, dog sit, house sit and in return are giving me money toward my trip!
People are finding ways to help and I am so grateful! But more than anything I am amazed at how God has shown up! God is opening people’s hearts! He is providing for me in ways I can’t even fathom! God is taking care of my fundraising just like he provided fish for the disciples! –He’s providing for me in abundance!
If you would like to support my trip and be a part of God’s work around the world, in my life, and in the lives of my supporters please click the support me button on the left hand side of your screen.
I am so thankful that God has provided for me and for each and every member of my support team whether you’re a financial donor, encourager, or prayer partner!
