You’re a father and your small daughter is out in the front yard with you. Suddenly, a dog comes and begins to attack your daughter. As a father, what do you do? You kill the dog. You rid the world of the thing that is attacking and hurting your child.
Now imagine a women selling herself to earn a living. A man comes in who wants to buy her time and her body. You are her father, what do you do? Do you kill him like the dog? Do you do whatever you can to protect your daughter from him? Probably.
God is our father too right? What would he do?
I believe every situation is different, but I don’t think God would strike down the Jon. I’ve definitely never heard of him doing so. God loves the Jon too. God wants to offer the Jon his love and freedom from the captivity of sexual sin. God wants to know the Jon and redeem his life too. God loves the Jon just as much as He loves the prostitute.
Hating or becoming angry with the Jon isn’t Christ like. Hating or getting mad at the prostitute isn’t either. God loves to Jon and he calls us to love them all.
