ROMANCE
We’ve looked at the parable of the Great Banquet and we’ve seen how the guests miss out on the banquet God has for them because of stuff and because of activities but there is still one more guest that turns down the opportunity to sit at God’s table.
This man turns down the invitation to the banquet because he “just got married, so [he] can’t come.” (Luke 14:20). This young guest is unable to attend the wedding because he is newly married and wants to spend the time with his wife. This seems like a hard thing to criticize him for that but let’s dig a little deeper.
This is pretty common isn’t it? Especially for newlyweds. Now, I’ve never been married but I am at that age where everyone is either engaged, newly married, or trying to get engaged. I know follow a common trend right after marriage. . . .
