I love football. A lot! It’s my favorite sport to watch. I grew up in Indianapolis during Peyton Manning’s Colt’s career. So I cheer for Manning and of course the Colt’s are my team.
But if the Bronco’s aren’t playing the Colts I root for them. And of course, I’m so excited to see Peyton play in another Super Bowl.
But, there is one thing I hate about the Super Bowl. Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest nights in America for human trafficking and the sex industry. There is more prostitution at that event than any other in America.
Over the course of the Super Bowl weekend, pimps force women and children to go to the city and sell their bodies. Many of these women are trafficked in against their will. The average age of these women is 13-19. These girls will be sold to upwards of 50 men in just one night. That is unfathomable!!
This is a huge problem and it isn’t the Super Bowl or the NFLs fault. At any major event world wide there will be a nearly 50% jump in the illicit sex industry. I don’t want to boycott the Superbowl because they are not responsible for these behaviors but I am going to boycott the sex industry.
I don’t participate in it anyway but I am going to spend these next few hours and days and during the game (while I watch of course) praying that the sex industry is boycotted this year. I am going to pray that no one is there to buy the women and that fewer women are trafficked in. I’m going to pray the pimps make no money instead of the average $32 billion dollars they stand to earn.
I am not boycotting the Superbowl game, but I’m going to pray for a boycott of the sex industry this weekend.
Will you join me in praying for the people involved in this and that the industry falls flat at this years Super Bowl?
