Hi Everyone!

My name is Kehinde and I am 24 years old (soon to be 25!) and I currently live in Northern Virginia. I am originally from Providence, RI but my family is from Nigeria. I’ve been living in Northern Virginia for the past year and working at an accounting firm. My first mission trip was back in 2011 where I did a Discipleship Training School with Youth With a Mission (YWAM). It started off with 3 months of learning about the nature and character of God, intercession, spiritual warfare, biblical worldviews, justice issues, worship, and so much more. After the “lecture” phase, I traveled with a team of about 15 to Ghana, West Africa for two months. It was my first time out of the States and I had no idea what to expect. During my time in Ghana God just completely wrecked my heart with so much love and compassion. When I got back to the States I found it difficult adjusting to “first world” life because of where I had been living the previous two months and what I had seen. God has never allowed me to forget this and has allowed me to do missions elsewhere since then and just keeps tugging at my heart for more. Finally I felt God calling me to the World Race and I could not be more excited! There are so many things I should be terrified about like 11 months in mostly 3rd world countries, living with people I’ve never met before, safety and health issues, raising money to go on this trip and so much more, but the peace of God and the excitement of what He’s gonna do and how He’s going to come through completely overshadows all of that!
