This morning I woke up with finances on my mind, and how I’m still $2k short from the April 1 deadline, exactly a month away. I remembered the stories in Exodus where God called the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and they were grumbling because they were hungry and thirsty. I reread over these stories, seeing God provide for each and every one of them, yet they continued to doubt Him time and time again.

See, when God calls you to do something, He’s not going to leave you high and dry.

God called the Israelites out of Egypt, and He was there for them every step of the way. He was a cloud for them by day and a fire by night. He made sure they were protected from their enemies. He made sure they were fed and clothed. He gave them their daily bread…literally.

Matthew 6 talks about not worrying; about seeking God’s kingdom first, and everything else falling into place.

God does not want me to be worried or stressed out about my finances.

He has called me to the Race and He will [continue] to provide all of my needs.

I was so intentional about praying for the Race even before I applied because I knew that if it wasn’t God’s will, it’d be a hot mess. I remembered my experience during grad school when I really wanted to study abroad, preferably in Australia since they speak English. I remember really wanting God’s approval on the matter, otherwise I wasn’t going to go. After getting the approval/confirmation of not only the country but also the city as well, I moved forward with applying to be a mission builder at YWAM Melbourne. From that point on God took care of everything. Of course there were some action steps that I needed to take like filling out the application, corresponding with staff, getting permission from my grad program, requesting grants from my school, etc. But really it was God orchestrating everything and really showing me favor in everything. The College of Business gave me enough money to cover a round trip plane ticket (which if you’ve never flown to Australia, isn’t cheap). The Admin Office matched that to a certain amount, allowing me to have spending money. And the School of Graduate Studies granted me a fellowship so my tuition and fees for the semester would be covered in full. I also would not be responsible for room and board/food while in Melbourne. I had no financial obligations whatsoever.

Having had this experience, I knew that God was capable of so much and that if God was calling me (or allowing me) to do something, He was going to take care of me. See, that’s the God that I serve. So yeah, my next deadline is a month away, but I know that as He’s done in the past, God is definitely going to come through.  I don’t know how that looks, that’s where faith comes into play, but I do know He will come provide.

If you’d like to be a part of what God is doing and support my trip in any way, please feel free to do so by clicking the “Support Me” link up top. Remember that all donations are tax deductible.

 Thanks!!
