Every month we travel to the next country as a squad, all 43 of us. Once we get to our destination, we may stay together in a hostel for a night or two, but then we split into our respective teams and head to our ministry locations for the month. Each month each team usually has a contact that they work with that helps them find accommodations, figure out what to do about food, and has work that the team can help with during the month. The contact serves as the main point person for the team if they have questions about things such as culture, where to buy groceries, or even activities to do on off days. We spent the 6th month of our race in Myanmar (also known as Burma) where we did not have a contact for the month. This is called an “Unsung Heros” month.

During our “Unsung Heros” month, we were tasked with finding potential contacts that could benefit from having teams come for a period of 3 or so weeks. We were told we would be doing this in the city of Mandalay, but that was it. It was up to us to figure out transportation there, lodging, food, find contacts, etc.

So we went with no contact, no place to live, and none of us knowing how to speak Burmese. Here is a glimpse into our month:

Please consider supporting if you haven’t already (or if you feel lead to again). I’ve been given some grace with my final deadline but in order to continue with the rest of the Race I have to be at $13,500 by August 1 (I’m about $1200 away at the moment) and $14,500 by September 1. Thank you everyone for your continued prayers and support.
