Hi, I’m Kegan.  I’m leaving on the World Race in September 2014, and I am so excited about this crazy journey that God is calling me on.  But you probably already know that, so here’s a little bit of information about me and my heart!

–  I just celebrated my 27th birthday.

– I am blessed with the most lovely family on the planet.  My mom, dad, and sister love me more than I could ever deserve.

– I am the aunt of two beautiful, perfect babies.  My niece and nephew melt my heart.

– I’m a teacher. I’ve taught 6th grade Math for 5 years and have loved (almost) every minute of it.  I also enjoy teaching about other things than math.  I just love when people learn something and the light bulb comes on! It’s such a joy for me to experience.

– I love being outside. I like to play frisbee, run, or sit and enjoy the scenery.

– I can’t decide if I’m an introvert or extrovert.  The Myer’s Briggs didn’t help at all.

– I’m an avid University of Kentucky fan.  I love watching basketball and football, even if it’s not UK.

– I rarely drink soda… I just don’t like the idea of drinking caffeine, but I do love sweet tea.  And the occasional Cherry Coke or Cream Soda.

– I am obsessed with making cupcakes.  I regularly make them for my coworkers and friends.  I once read a quote that said, “You can’t be sad when you’re holding a cupcake.” I’m certain that’s a fact.

– I love telling funny stories and hearing them.  Laughter is medicine.

– I have a horrible habit of downloading a song I love and listening to it on repeat for days.  I usually only change it to a new song when I buy one or my roommate tells me it has to go!

– I enjoy waking up in the mornings and don’t do so well staying up super late.  I am definitely a morning person.

– I have loved reading books since I was a kid.  I prefer paper ones over e-books.  It just feels better to hold the book and read.

– I enjoy traveling and seeing new places, but sometimes I get too caught up in trying to take a picture to remember it instead of enjoying it.

– I have lived in Kentucky my entire life, but have visited 2 countries (Poland and Germany) and over half of the states (including Alaska).

– I am in love with my Savior.  I am regularly overwhelmed by His grace, and I cannot wait to begin this journey to learn more about His love and share it with others around the world.

I think that’s about sums me up.  I do want to say thanks for sharing this journey with me.  Thanks for your financial support and prayers.  I really can’t do this on my own.  <3
