Hi my name is Keeley Chaffin! I am a sophomore in college at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. I play soccer at Transylvania and have played since I was five years old. I major in sociology and will hopefully pick up a psychology minor but we shall see if it works out. I am a current member of Tri Delta and have been overwhelmed by the support by my sisters on my acceptance for this mission trip and their support in giving me the confidence to apply for this program. I currently coach 11-13 year olds in club soccer, in which I enjoy working with the kids so much and enjoy teaching them about the sport that I love so much. All in all I am constantly busy juggling all of these activities that I participate in but these are just some of the few things that keep me going daily.

Other than the few basic things everyone always talks about themselves, I am a huge Kentucky fan and have been born and raised one. My mother and father have raised me from a young age to be a Kentucky fan but most importantly now a Kentucky basketball fan. I am an only child, therefore I am very close with my parents and they have always been my biggest supporters. I do have a dog as well who is about 10 years old and he is a yorkie named Prince.

In summer of 2018 I went to Grand-Goâve, Haiti with my mother and father through our church. It was in Haiti that I found a heart and love for missions. I have never been on a more amazing and moving trip. My relationship with God grew more than it ever could have before and I want to continue to grow my relationship with him as well. After Haiti I decided to have my father be with me while I was baptized on fathers day, June 18, 2018. That day was a great day for my family and I because there was some wounds that were healed on that day for all of us and lots of forgiveness given. I will forever and always be thankful for the way that Haiti was able to change me and grow my relationship with my family and God.

This post was a just a short little summary about me and who I am as a person. I am very excited for this journey with God and my team. I can’t wait to keep you all updated about my journey moving forward!
