First of all, know that I dearly love and miss each one of you. Sorry it has taken me so long to get a blog posted. Internet is scarce, but the pastor helps the team every Monday to pick up a connection. My team and I have made it safely to the mountains of Los Montacitos, Dominican Republic. Each morning, we wake up to head out for door to door evangelism, which at the moment consists of building relationships with the village. Our main partnership is with Compassion International. The people of the DR are incredible humble, simple, and loving. There is so much life and love that radiates from their faces. Every house we visit, we leave a pound heavier and drenched in affection. They absolutely adore us, and serve us with unending pleasure. There isn’t much “work”. It’s basically all very relational, and just doing what we love to do- Share the Gospel, love on kids, worship, help the elders, preach, and hike about everywhere we go. They always treat us with the greatest honor and much needed hospitality. We do have a translator that says nearby that we travel around with too. Throughout the week around 5pm with join with the translator named Ronny to teach English classes with the children of Los Montacitos. All the kids of the village are usually are walking with us where ever we go. It was a struggle to get up to the village, and we had to purchase a couple weeks worth of food before heading up. My team and I are also camping outside for the whole month. I am completely content with the living situations. Honestly, I love the entire experience. The people of the DR live a simple life, and I have found it to be refreshing. I will keep posting as much as possible. Be praying for unity within the team, lightheartedness, and open hearts for the gospel! Love you guys!!
