Living unloved is like a bird with clipped wings. Just as God created the birds to fly, He created us to be loved by Him. He created us for a relationship with Him, which we can choose out of our own free will. You’re probably thinking, “well I thought we were created to love others or do His will on earth?” We absolutely are. But we are FIRST called to be sons and daughters of our Father.

Our role is to accept His love, and then allow that love to lead us to love others. It’s a grace drenched existence wrapped around relationship.

To be loved by Him and have a relationship with Him. To find our identity in Him. He doesn’t want slaves, He wants a family. The outpouring of His love on us will then produce an outpouring of His love through us, onto others. 

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses all knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:16-19

Have you ever heard that cliche saying “if you don’t know how to love yourself, you won’t know how to love others?” Well it’s true. By God loving us through our relationship with Him, we see and know how much we are loved. Not only that, but we then learn HOW to love. Because He IS love. Some of us get our ideas of love off of Hallmark or Nicholas Sparks movies, but does it match up with what God says it is?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

This is the kind of love that I have always desired, yet have had right in front of me my entire life. Just waiting to be accepted. He loves us like this. When we learn how He loves us and accept it, we can then in-turn learn how to love others well. Therefore, obeying what He has called us to do! 

It’s not your offerings that delight God, but your joyful acceptance of His love that brings Him pleasure.

Do you love others like this? We each have an inexhaustible river of love to draw from whenever we choose. It is available to flow through us all the time, but are we choosing all the time to be available for it to flow through us? Who will choose to go where His love wants to flow? 

Above all, clothe yourself with love. Which binds us all together in perfect unity.

Colossians 3:14

We were all created to be loved by our precious Savior, created to be a vessel of that love; so much so, that it sloshes onto and transforms every heart we come in contact with. 

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.

1 Thessalonians 3:12

Papa, help me to be more present in your presence. Help me to not be so busy in my day to day, that I can not see the broken hearts all around me. Help me to be a vessel of your love and pour out that pure, inexhaustible, limitless love onto everyone I meet. Thank You Father, for so freely giving this love to me. Not in my ability, but my availability and willingness to let you lead me. Jesus, may your love within me transform the world around me, for YOUR glory.
