I have been LOVING this month! I love our contacts and that they love talking about marriage and sex, I love what we are doing, I love how community based the ministry is, I love the people here, I am just loving Uganda. I must say that I am tired of eating potatoes, white bread, and bananas. It makes me sick to think about it. I also will NEVER get used to the smell of the bathrooms that make me want to pass out from the stench or from me holding my breath.

STANK FACE

But I love the little children who walk up and down the road with us and the spunkiness some of them have. We really were able to invest in this community and build some great relationships.

We get so much freedom here to serve people how we want. I have been enjoying going to the pitch (soccer field) and building relationships. I met a girl named Jennifer and she asked to be my friend so we hung out a few times. She told me that she was a Christian, but one day at the pitch another girl was sitting with us and she asked Jennifer if she was saved. Jennifer paused for a few seconds and said yes. I asked her why she took so long to answer and she replied that her head hurt. So naturally I asked if we could pray for her head. She then admitted that she lied to us.

She said that she is not saved and that she wants to be. So right there on the pitch Jennifer gave her life to Christ! Things like this are happening all over Uganda, people are hungry for Jesus! People have given their lives to Christ at every church service and event we went to. God is moving here!!!

Please be praying for Jennifer. I got her a Bible because she asked for one and I told her that I would give it to her at church (which was yesterday) and she didn’t show up. Pray that she receives a Bible and that I get to say good-bye to her.

Random thoughts:

Pastor introduced me twice like this: If she was not living for Jesus she would be dancing in the bars in Vegas (yes PA and Vegas are so close together)

I am becoming a vegetarian slowly and surely

Pastor's wife makes me feel right at home by calling me Kiki

We sprayed Pastor with a water gun and he looked around and said "who's peeing on me?"

We went to a wedding, it is like everything else in Africa…LOTS of waiting

The worship team here has fur that they tie around their waist to shake their butts in. Erica and I surely shook our tail feathers with them

We got to lead worship at a Super Saturday event where a band surprisingly accompanied us on the drums and guitar

Pastor tries to get Erica and I to stay here by telling us he will find us nice husbands and that we will have mixed babies, but that no amount of cows can purchase us (only Jesus can)
