It has been a while since I have written last, I haven’t had internet since the day after Christmas (which I wasn’t even expecting to have then). Well as promised this one is going to be a little deeper since I had a lot of processing time. To sum up this month in one word it would be LEARNING. God really gave me a lot of time this month to learn and I really took advantage of it. I learned about spiritual warfare and how I am not a daughter of fear. I learned about freedom, which I would like to share a little about…

This is what I found super interesting. In the beginning of Genesis God told Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree of good and evil, but that they could eat of all the other trees (and in the garden was also the tree of life). Gen 2:9,16; 3:2-3 God gave Adam and Eve the freedom to eat of the tree, he didn’t hide it or protect it. He gives us the ability to make decisions freely and he protects that ability. God doesn’t force us to do anything. So Eve and then Adam eat of the tree and they were able to see good and evil, their eyes were opened to the distractions of the world Gen 3:5,7. We were never intended to see things in this way. We were supposed to see things in terms of life.

We aren’t supposed to see things in terms of right and wrong, and many people believe that the Bible is a book of rules. In reality the Bible is a book about people who were trying to get back to how God intended them to live. Various passages say that

“All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be enslaved by anything”
(Gen 6:12).

We have the ability to do anything we want, but the question you have to ask is:

Is this beneficial to my life?

Am I doing this in life?

Another question you can ask yourself is about punishment in regards to that.

Are your actions done out of fear of punishment or because you love the Father?

(read about how God is love in 1 John 4:7-21). God is a lover and the fulfillment of love is to be loved back. Really reflect on that, God gives you the freedom to love him.

Random blog moment, but this is now the New Year and I want to tell you my New Year’s resolution: I want this year to be a year of being grateful for every breath and using them wisely. The Bible says that this life is nothing but a mere breath (which is true when you look at eternity). Before we know it our bodies will be withered like the grass. Psalm 150:6 really sums up how I want to live this year:

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

I have never been so amazed by breathing and how much of a gift it is. Our lives could literally be ended in a second. We think nothing about breathing, but God gives us each breath. Genesis says that “then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature” (Gen 2:7) and he can take it away when he wants. We think we are so invincible, but I am tired of living that way and want to truly live for the one who breathes life into my lungs!
