I think the title says enough about what is going to happen on this trip! When you ask for something from God you know he will answer, but he never just answers. He ALWAYS does so much more, more than you imagined!! He is a pretty cool guy! I know that during this trip, like every other trip I went on, that he is going to ROCK MY SOCKS! I have some expectations and I am going to tell you them, but I know that he is going to do so much more than meet them.
My Expectations
1. God is going to exceed my expectations
2. I am going to become very frustrated living out of a backpack, wearing the same clothes all the time, not having a bed or a place to call home, not taking a shower and taking bucket baths or whatever they have for us, not having options, having to eat gross food, ugh I could write for ever. I think you get my drift here, I am going to be going out of my norm and my comfort and it is going to be rough
3. I am going to learn to cross language barriers in crazy and creative ways
4. To see a miracle would be pretty awesome
5. To have my heart break for a country and people of all walks of life
6. To learn what it means to live simply and rely on God for EVERYTHING
7. To have FUUNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!
8. To laugh and cry and make awesome friends!
9. To miss my family and will be excited to hear from them through this great thing called technology
10. To learn what it means to truly LOVE!!! I believe that this is a life time goal and doesn't just happen, but this trip will help put me on the right path!
11. To not be as hard on myself, to accept God's grace, to credit myself for things I do
12. To learn the POWER I have in this world by walking with Jesus
13. To not worry as much about small things (or big things)
14. To come back completely different and shocked at what we have in America
15. To be exhausted a lot and have to rely on the Lord for my strength
16. To not be able to carry my backpack at first
17. To become a natural at being a outdoorsy/hiking/camping person
18. That the year is going to fly by, yet drag by when I am home sick
19. To go on fun adventures in each country and see awesome things
20. To hear from God in ways that I have never before
I could write sooooo many more. I have a ton of expectations!!!!!! I know that I am going to see lots of the ugly within myself and that God is going to make me new and refined. My faith is going to strengthen, I am going to learn to rely on him for everything!! I am so excited yet completely terrified at the same time. I have tons of doubts about this trip because I am not having faith in how BIG God is!!
God is in control of everything! He created the Earth, the creatures that walk on it, humans (out of dust must I mention). He feeds the birds and the animals, why do I not trust that he will provide everything that I need? He is going to show me how AWESOME he is and I cant wait!!!!!!!!
