Hey yalllll!!!!!! ¿Como estas? Did you know that 37% of people in Guatemala live on less than $2 a day, that 61% of the population are around the teenage years, that 175,000 people are in gangs, it is heartbreaking!

Things are a bit more real now. We finally made it to our ministry sites today! We tried yesterday and believe it or not there are too many volunteers in Antigua at this time. So the hospital we were going to serve at is not in need of us until the 24th and the schools are now letting out for summer break until January…

But God has bigger plans for us!

Monday we are going to be teaching at a school, but that is the only day we will be there. We are now serving at this place called Nuestros Ahijados, or God's Child (I think). It is reallllllyyyyyy awesome! They do EVEYTHING from nursing malnurished babies back to health, to giving free education to the poorest of the poor, to empowering people out of poverty, to saving people from human trafficking, they are building a domestic violence center, and I don't remember what else. We are also serving at a place called Casa Marias, or Grampa's House. This is like a nursing home, but the people in it have been neglected or abandoned and they LOVED to see us. Not many people go there to volunteer so they were super happy that we pursued them. The older people are great, we cannot understand them, but they are great! We danced and sang and talked and held hands and smiled and loved them! It was really cool and I thoroughly enjoyed trying to learn spanish while loving them.

This is a little update for yall as of now! (I keep saying yall with all these dang southerners on the race, I love them!) Also here is a video of our rockin' crib named Mochileros, or backpackers, for the month. We couldn't be more blessed. This place is SO nice! Like the Hilton compared to where we will be staying this year!
