YYEEELLLOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Let's see here… I am at a loss of words on what to write about. There is so much that has been happening, but I feel kind of confused by everything. Not as much confused as I am spinning/numb/loco en la cabeza!
We have been serving at a nursing home called Casa Marias, but it is also called Grampa's House. Walking in there you instantly feel the darkness. The air is heavy, negative, not enjoyable to be in…ya know? The people in there do not want to be in there. There are two main rooms for people to sleep in, a men and womens room, they are lined with beds and no privacy. Let's put it this way, if this place was in America it would be shut down in an instant, law suits would be miles high. But I am not in America, this is Guatemala, a third world country.
We were really lost at what to do, how do we bring the love of Jesus in this place, how do we make an impact that lasts? Well we just began praying for people there. A man who has been in a wheel chair for 10 years was able to move his leg more than he has in years!!!!!!! We go in and they tell us if they have any issues and want us to pray for them. They get so excited to see us, and everyday the air feels lighter.
As for my head, I don't know how to handle all this. Yes I am so pumped that the light is being brought in there, but it is also hard because this is the reality of so many people. What can we do to really bring a change in this place, in this amount of time, in this country where the legal system is corrupt? As for now we will continue to pray, continue to speak up for them, continue to pour out love on these people who haven't been given muh time.
Pray for these people, pray that they see hope in everyday and that people will continue to visit them after we leave!
Some pictures of the place.
They hang out eat and hang out here in this area that is outside/covered
