So things are beginning to surface, it is all becoming more real. What am I doing is the question that keeps coming to my mind. In the past few weeks I have almost reached my second financial deadline of $6,000. I only have about $10,000 more to go! I also have been beginning to look at camping gear such as, backpacks, sandals, pillows, and everything in between. My head spins daily with all that I have to do. I am so new to this whole adventure life and I have asked the people in REI tons of questions on the two visits I was there this week. My dad even began warning them to run from me 🙂
But I feel so good about this trip! I have lots of negative things going on right now, but God has been showing up for me! He has been so good and gracious and is blowing my mind! I feel like this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing for the next year!
I have been SOOOOOO blessed with people's generosity! It blows my mind how many people want to partner with me, especially since I do not have a church family. However, I do have a large family and awesome family friends!!!! Thank you everyone who has decided to partner with me! I also have been blessed in regards to camping gear. My sister's co-worker is able to get me a sweet deal on discounted items through Sierra Club or something like that! I am only working part time and the gear is pretty expensive so this is such a great gift!!!
I also have been blessed by people investing in my life! I have had Faith help me make up my support letters and encourage me through the process, I have Gale who met with me to talk about how she is raising money for her 2 year mission (Gale and I are going to have a benefit coffee house together!!), Maria wants to lend me her sleeping mat and tent, my parents have been coming up with ideas and supporting me in ways I have never expected, my sister claims she feels like a slave, but she has helped me sooooo much words cannot explain. Blessings are coming in from every angle and from the places I never would expect. It is awesome.
I have training camp the first week of July down in Tennessee. Please be praying for peace as I prepare, for organization, and for clarity as I walk aimlessly everyday down a to-do list that never ends.
