Month one of the Race is officially over!

For the last five days, and for about five more, our squad has been in Nelspruit, South Africa for our first debrief.

Debrief is a time for us as a squad to come together and spend time processing our time on the field with each other and our leadership team (boy do we love our leadership). Debrief also gives us some much needed space to rest, have some fun, and spend time with our World Race family and the Lord in preparation for the months ahead.

Spending time looking back on the month, I can see so much of the Lord. He did amazing work in the communities our teams served. He’s working through our squad in such beautiful ways. But He doesn’t stop there. As much as He’s working through us, He’s also working in us.

He’s digging deep into our hearts, pulling weeds, and planting new seeds. He’s healing wounds that run deep, He’s opening our eyes to the gifts He’s given us, and He’s showing us so, so much of His grace and goodness.

Every year on my birthday I sit down with the Lord to talk about the coming year. We talk about what He wants me to focus on, what He wants the year to look like, and how He wants to move.

I had this talk with the Lord a couple of weeks ago and He made so evident that this year is for more of His joy, more of His goodness, and more of His Spirit.

The Lord brought me to Ecclesiastes 3. Verse one of the chapter says “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” The chapter goes on to list examples. Verse four says “a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.”

I fully believe that this year the Lord wants to show me, and our squad, a year full of laughter and dancing.

A year marked His goodness and His joy.

A year of dancing with and for Him, both figuratively and literally, as an expression of gratitude for all that He has done and will continue to do.

A year to be reminded that we are deeply loved and adored by the Creator of the universe. That as we go through our days, He is rejoicing over us with gladness (Zeph. 3:17).

He’s already showing us so much of His goodness and grace. I can’t wait to see the ways He moves in and through our squad this next month.

On the fifteenth, our squad leaves South Africa to head to Zimbabwe. My team and I will be in Chinhoyi, working with a ministry called Youth for Christ.

If you’d like to partner alongside our squad in this journey, there are a couple of ways to do so!

I am officially FULLY FUNDED! However, our squad as a whole is still fundraising!

If you’d like to partner with anyone on our squad financially, check out the blogs of some of my teammates on the left side of this page. These are some people doing some beautiful things in the name of Jesus.

More than anything we’d love your prayers. Our prayers go where we can’t. So you can send them to us all the way to Africa 🙂

Thanks for being a part of this journey. You are the hands and feet of Jesus. You are so loved and so appreciated.
