So last weekend me and my team went to Lake Victoria for a little mini-vacation for a couple of days. It was just a good relaxing weekend with my team before debrief. So while we were there a few of us had the opportunity to be on a boat ride in Lake Victoria on Sunday. We were in the water for over an hour! If you know me you know how scary that would be for me. I can swim but not very well and not underwater at all so I don't like to be in deep water. I am always afraid that I am going to fall out of the boat and just drown in the water. I was so close to not getting in the boat and just waiting on the rest of the girls on the other side. But with the help of the girls encouraging me I finally decided to get in the boat. I am so glad that I did because once I did guess what we saw?!? Hippos!! Crazy right? We saw 5 hippos come up out of the water while we were on the boat. The ride was just so beautiful also. I am so glad that I decided to get in the boat and conquer my fear. This journey has been all about conquering my fears and just experiencing things. This trip has been all about just jumping into the water and not being afraid to swim in the deep. There has been so many times that I have faced uncomfortable circumstances and I just had to decide to get in the boat and take the risk. I have been so glad each and every time that I have decided to take a step of faith and do something even though it may not be comfortable for me. We are all called to walk by faith and trust in the Lord to take care of the rest. Jesus says in Matthew 17:20 that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can say to the mountain, Move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. We can accomplish anything if we just have faith and trust in our heavenly Father. As it also says in the word, in Romans 8:37 that in all these things we are more than conquers through him who loved us. If he asks you to do something no matter how crazy it may sound don't be afraid to step out in faith and do it for him. He will surely honor you for obeying him. Don't live your life in fear! You will regret it if you do. I am talking to myself also. I am still afraid of many things but I know if God calls me to it then he will take care of me. I am also reminded of Romans 8:31, If God is for us than who can be against us? Nothing can come against us when we have Christ by our side. If we say yes to him he will lead us each and every step of the way. So I encourage you to ask God what he is calling you to do and say yes to it. It may be scary but it will be well worth it!
