So we just finished up the month here in Thailand. My team worked in a village this month clearing out some land that will later be a safe house for prostitutes. We were able to develop some lasting relationships with some of the villagers. We ate at the same restaurant every day and were able to get close to the owner and her daughter. We also had someone who worked out at the land with us, who we called Pa. He is a Buddhist and one of the first days that we were there he asked us to go someone with him. We ended up at a site where a lot of villagers were helping to build a temple. It was a community effort, most of the village people came out that day to help with the temple. My whole team was conflicted and not sure what to do about the situation. So we all took a few minutes to pray about it and ask the Lord what he wanted us to do. Well 4 of us ended up staying and helping out. We just moved sand and rocks from the bottom of a hill to the top in buckets in an assembly line. We had a good time just hanging out and talking with the villagers there. God gave me a peace about the situation and what we were there to do. I think my whole team can say that we weren’t there to help out with the build but we were there just to love on the people and show God’s love to them. It was a different experience for all of us. When I think back on it I am not sure if I did the right thing but I know my reason behind it and I believe God will bless that. As it says in his word in John 13:34-35, A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” At the end of the day it is all about his love and pouring it out on others. We are headed to Malaysia in just a few days. Month 10 is about to begin for us!
