So we have been in Dublin, Ireland for about a week now. It has been a crazy but great week so far. We arrived around 10 a.m. Ireland time at the Airport. The squad was put on two seperate flights, first half onone flight and the last half on the second flight. The first flight had a layover in Boston and they got to Irland about 2 hours before those of us we were on the second flight. We had a direct flight to Dublin that left around 10 p.m. Friday night. After we got to Dublin and met up with the rest of our squads we started breaking off into our teams and trying to contat our ministry contacts. Every other team got in touch with their ministry contact but ours. We could not get in touch with her at all. So we called the hostel where we thought our contact and booked a room forus and we found out that it was not booked yet. So we begin calling all of the hostels to see if we could find a room. We found out that there was a big concert going on that night and all of the hostels were booked for the night! So we ended up finding a campground that has some open space for us. So we got in a taxi van and headed toward the campground. We ended up praying with our taxi driver and we could tell that it blessed him. We stayed at the campground for a couple of days. At least I can say that I did use my tent and it wasn't a waste to buy it even if I don't use it again during this trip. We finally got in touchwith our minstry contact, Liesal, and we left Monday morning to head toward our hostel. We dropped all of our luggage off and headed toward the mission site. We met with all of the staff at Dublin Christian Mission and sit in on one of thier meetings. Then Liesal informed us of what we would be doing for this week. After that we had dinner out and came back to the hostel. When we got back to the hostel we came to the hammock room and had feedback with the team. As we were having feed back a guy from London came in and sat with us. Some of my team had already met him and he just came in to see what we were doing. He sat down and right away said that he was an athiest. He beganto ask all of us questions about how we knew that God was real and why we believed in him. We also had two other guys join us, one was a comedian who had been reading the Bible to use it as a comedy sketch and the other was a leather maker who had expressed that he had heard about the Lord but had not been following him consistently. We began to talk to all 3 of these men and just let them ask questions. The one from London, Kelan, decided to go to ministry with us the next day. On Tuesday we went to the Lighthouse ministry and helped them sort clothes and help serve dinner to the homeless. I sorted clothes and washed dishes that day. We could all tell that from the beginning Kelan's heart was beginning to soften and he was really searching for the truth. Yesterday we went to the Dublin Christian Mission and helped Liesal by cleaning out a room, cleaning the kitchen, and cleaning the basement. We still have a lot of work there to do and we will go back there on Friday. I cleaned out that room and washed the dishes before we put them back in the kitchen. Kelan also came with us yesterday and two other people that we had met at the hostel came to help out. After we finished serving yesterday we were able to go to a comedy show by the comedian, he was so happy to see us and I hope that we at least planted a seed and made him think about things. After that we went to dinner and then came back to the hostel. We had all felt led to have a worship session in the hammock room that night. So as we were worshipping guess who decided to come join us..Kelan. We begin to read verses from the Bible and he had opened one of our bibles and read from Psalm 31 starting in verse 13. It was so amazing to see someone who at the beginning of the week had proclaimed that he was athiest to be reading the bible and you could tell that God was speaking to him. He begin to express that he had never felt like this before and it was like God was speaking right to him through his word!! Glory be to Jesus! We were all so shocked to see and hear what Kelan was saying. We spent the next two hours minstering to him and just allowing the Lord to move and speak to him. We all prayed over him and at the end of the prayer he told us that he wanted to accept Christ. He asked Christ into his heart and accepted him!! Earlier this week two girls from my team went out and bought Kelan and the leather maker a bible. We had already given the leather maker his bible and we gave Kelan a bible last night that we had all written notes in about what we see in him and how much God loves him. It was so awesome to see him just worship with us afterwards and cry and just to see God move! Robin then remided us that it had been 3 days since we had met Kelan and we connected it to the resurrection of Christ. It was so good to see how had planned everything and see that Kelan realized it also. During his prayer he said that God is real and it is true, he even added his own words to the prayer and promised to follow in the Lord's footsteps from now on. If Kelan is the only one who accepts Christ thoughout these 11 months this trip has been well worth it! So glad to know that the angels were rejoicing in heaven last night! Thanks for all your prayers and keep them up! We are about to go serve again at the Lighthouse minstry today. Pray that the Lord will speak through us! Here are some pictures from the last few days:
