Dude. Camp.
Of the many, MANY things I learned at training camp, this probably summed it all up in one HUGE impactful eye-opening revelation for me.
Love: noun; an intense feeling of deep affection
“Father show me how to RECEIVE your love.”
This was my prayer for the past couple weeks.
Someone said to me at camp, “Kaysha, there’s a difference in knowing God loves you, and KNOWING God’s LOVE.”
I can’t tell you how much that sentence has rocked my world. It’s like as soon as I realized what she was saying, my eyes were open. I could see God’s love everywhere. All my life I’ve been afraid. Afraid to dance, afraid to laugh, afraid to joke, afraid to hug, afraid to show my true feelings. For me, knowing God’s love is being brave. Knowing God’s love is being bold. Knowing God’s love is being raw and vulnerable. Knowing God’s love is loving yourself, and being loved by others. Knowing God’s love is stepping out of your comfort zone because there is no comfort zone anymore because GOD IS SO SO GOOD TO US!
On the last night, our squad mentor, Megan started a song and we all joined in, “ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough, ain’t no river wide enough, to keep me from getting to you babe!”
Man! Jesus! No matter how high of a mountain I have to climb, you’re there. No matter how low of a day I’m having, you’re there. No matter where I am on Earth, even away from World Race Training Camp, you. Are. there. I never have to worry about being alone or unloved again.
Lord I thank you for showing me how to receive love through these amazing people! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in 2018! Father I thank you for this new family.
