When I struggle with forgiving someone that has treated me wrongly I always refer to the bible verse in Matthew.

Matthew 6: "14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

This verse reminds me that no amount or pain or hurt someone has caused me to feel, I should always forgive them. I would also be in the wrong if I wrote this blog all about my ability and struggle to forgive.

I am not perfect, I do hurt people's feelings, I do say things without thinking about the consequences of my words sometimes but that is one of the greatest things about our God!!!!
As long as you forgive others, he will forgive you! How AMAZING!
When I was a freshman in college I went through some very traumatic events that prevented me from forgiving those who had treated me wrongly. Soon after that, everything seemed to be going wrong; nothing good ever happened to me. After having a long, very difficult conversation with my counselor, who is also a Christian, she finally asked me if I had forgiven the person who catalyzed what seemed to be my long streak of bad luck and my answer was a quick NO!

After sharing Matthew 6:14-15 with me, my next task was to read it daily, take it to heart, and finally do what I thought I would never have the willpower to do: forgive the person who made me furious, hysterical and upset all at the same time.

Forgiveness is one of the GREATEST things about our God!!!

Thank you God for forgiving me!
