As a part of my CGA commitment, this summer I serve in the office from 9am-5pm in the admissions department. Can I just tell you that I love it. This has defiantly grown on me and stretched me in several areas. But I would not ask for anything different now.
My role is to work with the ambassador kids who are in high school any where from 14-18 years old. I am able to talk with them and build relationships as they move through the application process and get out on the field to bring kingdom to an area of the world. I make phone calls and send emails all day reminding them to get certain documents into us, help them with support raising questions, and answer any other question they may have about their trip or our organization.
I am privileged to see all the teens I have worked with since January launch on their trips this summer and meet them all face to face at their training camps. It truly gives me hope for the generation when you hear these teens hearts and see they just want to go and take 2-4 weeks out of their summer to give back and help someone else see the Lord and feel his love.
Another part of my job is doing interviews for World race and passport participants. This is by far my favorite part of my job. I get to take an hour of my day and hear how God is working and has worked in someone else life. Lots of times I also get to speak life into them and remind the participant that they are not a person of their past. I can share my story and how much the lord did in me on my race and encourage them. Who doesn't want to do that?
Not only have I seen a generation step up and encourage participants but I also have grown a great deal since being in the Adventures office.
Before coming to Adventures and working in the admissions department, I hated making phone calls and talking to strangers on the phone about anything, and most times would have someone else do it for me. I have seen so much personal growth to be able to pick up the headset at any given moment and answer questions, or find out what the person on the other line needs to walk through and pray with them.
There is no more anxiety of putting someone on hold, or answering the phone without having information I need, and I do not worry anymore if others in the office are listening to what I'm saying while on the phone. These are all huge areas of growth for me personally and it is all because of the department the Lord placed me in back in January.
The reason I have seen these generations step up and bring kingdom to the world, been able to encourage people in their lives, and grown so much personally is because of YOU!
This is a support based season of life, all my income is support raised, and it's my donors who make this possible. Without you giving money and allowing me to stay here in Georgia I would not be doing all of this. I just want to say thank you! I want you to know that what you are giving to is good soil and there are teens going out to the world this summer because of YOU!
If you want to partner with what the Lord is doing here and the way he is moving in me. I still need $2100 for the rest of my CGA commitment which ends in December. You can make a one time donation or be a monthly supporter by clicking the support me tab on the left side of the webpage or you can contact me to send a check to my support account.
I would like to end this blog by saying a big THANK YOU to all those who have supported me the last year. I truly couldn't do this without you.
