This is the life in Moldova that might not be normal to those back home, but is completely normal here and has become home.

  • · It’s “normal” to clear a field of tomatoes by hand
  •  It’s “normal” to sleep in a room with 5 other girls
  • It’s “normal” to find fire walls to stay warm
  • It’s “normal” to use an outhouse for a bathroom all month
  • It’s “normal” to brush your teeth in your bed and have a spit bottle next to your bed so it doesn’t mix with another girls bottle
  •  It’s “normal” to not shower for 7 days at a time
  •   It’s “normal” to pay for an hour in the sauna to have a shower for the week.
  •  It’s “normal” to buy snacks every day from the store across from ministry.
  •  It’s “normal” to take your shoes off before entering a house
  •  It’s “normal” to have a family that lives in your house with a cute baby boy who cries and laughs in the morning
  •  It’s “normal” to call a little tree path the forest
  • Its “normal” to take the children to the forest and see a man passed out from alcohol and help him to the path to his house.
  • Its “normal” to have your ministry contact bring you snacks during your team.
  •  It’s “normal” to ride home from the sauna and have your ministry contact turn the worship music real loud and everyone sing along.

Each month I will try to end my blog for the month with what’s normal. This way I can relate back home to everyone on what life looks like in each country.
