At the end of ministry in Tanzania my team went and spent a couple days in Dar Es Salaam. It was a sort of mini vacation and some rest that was needed. On our first full day in dar es salaam we went as a team to the beach. I thought it would be a great way to relax and just chill before heading into another day of ministry in Rwanda. My plan was to sit on the beach and enjoy the beautiful scenery and a conversation with a teammate. However God had other plans…

As we were sitting there several people came up to us and had conversations with us trying to sell us things. Each conversation turned back to God and what we were doing here in their country. We met one person on the beach whose name was Shadow. He offered to give our friend dreds while we were at the beach. We spent the day with him and just hearing his story. God was able to use us to encourage him and to point him back to Jesus. Shadow was definitely hearing from the Lord and knew him but had just fallen away for a little while. He gave us all Tanzanian names and each one was prophetic and could stand for something in our lives. I enjoyed seeing his heart and hearing his story.

The next day three of us girls decided to head to the local mall and get Subway for lunch. Thinking this was just an ordinary thing to do and would be fun for us girls to hangout. However God had other plans once again. On our way home we got in a cab with a driver whose name is Constantine. We start a conversation with him and of course it comes back to why are you here in our city. We explain that we are missionaries and that we are taking a couple days of rest before heading to Rwanda. Constantine who hasn't stopped smiling since we got in his cab tells us he loves Jesus and then pours out how his day is going. This man of God was so full of joy it was radiating off him. His day had not started off the greatest, and his key to his personal cab had broken so he couldn't start driving until noon. But this man told the story of such joy and how God had provided for him and since he had been driving his cab had not been empty. Constaine told us how he enjoyed driving cab because in one day he could meet more friends than on Facebook. We were able to encourage him, and get his number so that he would be our cab driver for the rest of the vacation.

It was encouraging to see how God can show us that he is still moving in other people by doing simple things. Even though we were on "vacation" and didn't have scheduled ministry I was able to love on people and encourage them with what Jesus has to say about them. Having these conversations was a great reminder that God doesn't take a vacation he is always moving and always present. That we don't have to have a scheduled ministry to have God show up, he can use us whenever and where ever as long as we are willing to go outside our comfort zones and talk to people. It doesn't matter if you are in the states or across the world in Tanzania you can still make an impact for the kingdom and share God's love and truth with others.

I'm also in need of finacial support as our deadline is up to be fully funded on March 1st. I need about $3,000 by then. Please be praying for this and if you feel called to give send me a message and let me know. Also please share this blog with everyone you know and let them know how they can help and what Jesus is doing around the world!

I'm sorry there are no pictures but the internet is really slow and that makes it hard to post pictures too.
