“Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
Matthew 15:14

I’ve had several people from our squad in this all squad month ask me, “what’s it like being on a team with guys?”.

Instantly a thousand thoughts came to mind.

But first and foremost they have begun restoring the image of “a man” to all of us girls who have been mistreated, neglected, and hurt by other men… Even ones who came in the name of Christ. And the image of “a man” that we’ve been given has been built by Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles, Brothers, Cousins, Love Interests, Boyfriends, Boy Friends, Leaders, and Strangers.

Fathers have been given the role to lead their daughters.
Husbands have been given the role to lead their wives.
and I truly believe even that Boy Friends have been given the role to lead their friends that are girls.

Men you are leading the women in your lives… The question is,
WHERE ARE YOU LEADING THEM?

This is how the men (not boys) of team Lit have lead us:
1. Into a place of safety… because they’ve asked us the boundaries for our interactions as a co-ed team
2. Into a place of intentionality… because they’ve asked us how we best receive and feel love
3. Into a place of care… because they’ve chosen to love us how we need to be loved
4. Into a secret place… Because they’ve sought a secret place to meet with the Lord everyday, and have lead us by example.
5. Into a place of respect… as they’ve never objectified a woman in front of us, but have lovingly called us out on our double standards.
6. Into a place of trust… Because when we are weak and weary physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually they uplift us
7. Into a place of love … Because they’ve sacrificed their desires for ours

If you’re reading this you’re probably thinking of another person who bestowed these qualities, and has also lead us into these same places…. You’re Sunday school answer is correct. Yes, Jesus has done all of this for His children, and the credit for these men’s hearts all goes to Him. Because they are his children, his valiant servants, they have been made like Him, and we the ladies of team Lit, and all of N squad really, are all the better for them!

Connor, Daniel, Oscar, and Wesley, I love you my sweet brothers!
