10 days…
of new exotic food
of dripping sweat
of natural looks & oily faces
of a new smell that became the normal
of dance parties
of uncomfortablleness
of belly hurting laughs
of prayer & worship
of vulnerability & openness
of tears & testimonies
of brokenness
of rebirth & being made new
of bucket showers/ water hosing off
of weird sleep scenarios
of mosquitos, daddy long legs, cicadas, weird bugs, that became your tent buddies
of freedom
of learning, lots of learning
of crying in your tent
of hugs
of chacos
of random rain storms
of porta-potties
of family.
Training camp changed me. It prepared me. I have a whole new outlook and its just the beginning. Training camp was hard y’all, I lost weight because the food wasn’t necesarily my usual, I fell asleep crying in my tent, though some nights I hardly slept or didn’t sleep, I opened up, I was taking 5 classes at the time online, trying to balance that yet being present, I got God smacked, I woke up & listened to what Jesus was saying to me, He gave me rest, strength, and a joy. Y’all Jesus taught me so much, and ITS JUST THE BEGINNING OF A CRAZY ADVENTURE.
So Jesus speaks to me really through worship and one night in worship the lyrics of “You are perfect in all your ways, and I am loved by you” was sung and heres what I took from it. (this was when I was struggling with school work but also being present at TC)
—–journal entry—–
” Like how cool is that. Someone who is perfect, loves ME. While I’m trying to be perfect in my work but also in so many other things, a ‘perfect christian’ but all Jesus wants is for me to do it all well, and He will give me rest and love me still just as I am.
Also, when we are trying or seeking out to find that “perfect man/woman” that meets all our wants & desires. Like no what why JESUS is already and has been the whole time and always will be.
don’t try and do everything perfect
do try to look or dress perfect
do try to act perfect
just do everything WELL and Jesus will be there loving you & giving you rest & being everything you need/want desire.
He gives rest to the weary, and power to the faint.”
THEN this girl on my team comes up to me as I’m balling my eyes out and says Jesus wanted me to tell you He’s proud of you. Gods cool y’all.
Training camp summed up: indescribable. hard yet beautiful.
