The team sat in the open area for team time all together. The plan was to have communion, worship, and time to spend with Jesus.

Before taking communion, Gabby and I felt led to share our hearts about communion.

We shared about how communion was an act of remembrance for believers of the ultimate sacrifice that was made for us through Jesus dying on the cross.

We talked about making our hearts right before taking communion and how important that was. It’s not just an act and something to do but so much more.

We shared about how it’s also an act of celebration to know that Jesus is alive.

One of my girls after hearing our hearts behind communion and what scripture had to say had some questions.

She began to ask about why Jesus died on the cross. She began to ask what the blood did. She was so hungry for knowledge and wanted to know more.

I began praying about what to do, knowing this was a pivotal time and the Holy Spirit was moving.

Jesus began to speak and said you and Gabby need to talk with her before people begin taking communion.

I pulled her aside and asked if we could talk with her for a few minutes. She said of course. I told her that I wanted to know if she had any more questions and what her thoughts were on what she just heard.

She began to ask more questions. The more she asked the more truth was shared. We talked about why Jesus died, what that meant for us, and who He is. I shared part of my testimony and how Jesus had radically changed my life.

I began praying again about what to do next. Jesus said use those chocolate bars and share the full Gospel.

I asked if I could share more and she said yes.

I took the three chocolate bars and laid them on the floor as a representation of her, Jesus, and God.

We talked about how she couldn’t do this on her own. To get to God she needed Jesus because sin separated her from God.

After talking for a while about who Jesus is. I asked her if she wanted Jesus to guide her life and for Him to be all she needs.

She said yes!

I looked at her with my eyes full of tears and said you have just made the best decision you will ever make.

She said the most important yes and she chose Jesus.

She chose to put Him first. She chose to say yes even when it doesn’t make sense. She chose to sacrifice her own desires in replace of His will. She chose to declare that she is a daughter of the King and walk in confidence knowing that.

That Valentines Day, Mattie chose to accept Jesus as her personal savior and is now a part of the greatest love story to ever be told.
