I have been praying about this for a couple of years now and it is actually happening. I can now say that I am going on the World Race and I am so excited!
I haven’t even gone on the field yet and The Lord is already at work. Many of you have asked if I will be at my brothers wedding in January. The answer is yes because The Lord is so incredibly faithful. During this application process my brother got engaged and then decided to set a wedding date in January (the month I leave). One day I was struggling about whether or not this was the right time to go back overseas and if I was supposed to wait until after the wedding. I began praying and asking The Lord what to do and to help me see clearly. I decided I would try to look on the internet for previous racers experience with leaving during the race for a wedding. A blog popped up and I thought ok I guess I will read it. It was titled To the Bride and Groom and specifically addressed to her sister and future brother in law. I thought oh ok and continued reading but the next line said To Shelby and Daniel. I began to pray some more and knew this wasn’t a coincidence and this was The Lord confirming that this is where I was supposed to be and that I would be at their wedding. I continued my application and a little over a month later I found out that I will be at their wedding and leaving for the World Race the next day.
If this is happening before I even leave, I can’t wait to see what The Lord has in store for while I am on the field! I will be heading out for 11 months to 11 different countries in January. My team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, love in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I would love for you to follow my blog and keep up with me while I am on the field to see how The Lord is impacting the kingdom. My prayer is that The Lord would use my team and I in any way He sees fit and that we would go forth boldly and confidently this year. Please be praying alongside us as we begin this adventure.
I have started fundraising and my first deadline of $5000 is quickly approaching and due next Friday, September 23rd. Overall I need to support raise $15,500 to be fully funded.
