“May we never lose our wonder. Wide eyed and mystified may we be just like a child staring at the beauty of our King. May we never lose our wonder.” Bethel Music
We had an off day in Colombia and went into the city to take in the culture. While on the streets we decided to pray into what the night would look like and asked the Lord if there were people we needed to talk with or pray over. We didn’t want ministry to end just because we had left the sports complex.
I began praying. The Lord showed me a vision of a lady sitting on the edge of a curb hunched over and not looking up. I didn’t have the courage to speak up and had doubts as to if that was of the Lord or something that was just in my head. I kept quiet but internally was praying about what the Lord had planned and if this was of Him.
We began walking down the street and there she was. We stopped and met her where she was at. She didn’t want to look up and we could tell she was in distress. She was hurting inside and her whole demeanor expressed what was really going on. We began asking her questions and talking with her. She was a street vendor and began to tell us that people look down on her. She was upset and alone.
People don’t acknowledge her and walk past her day in and day out. She began to tell us that her hope is in the Lord and that He is a good father. The Lord is what keeps her going each day. She was so grateful that we stopped and listened. We had the opportunity to pray over her and speak encouragement into her life. It was beautiful to watch the Lord’s presence cover her and lift her spirits. We walked away from that not knowing what her life will look like but with peace because the Lord has the ultimate plan for her life.
All I can say is we serve an awesome God and I am praying that I never lose my wonder. I am praying big things over this next month and that the Lord would continue to guide our steps and show us where He wants us.
