At the beginning of this month I asked the Lord for words for this place and encouragement for the people that serve here daily. The Lord placed Psalm 121 on my heart.

Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Soccer practice had just ended and we were heading out of the park to catch a taxi with one of the coaches. He said he had a friend that could come and pick us up so he called him. We sat on the sidewalk waiting for the taxi that he had called. Ten minutes had gone by and he hadn’t shown up. We watched as several taxis went by during that time but continued to wait for who he had called. We watched and waited for another ten minutes. Out of no where the coach said well I guess he isn’t coming and flagged down a taxi driver for us.

We hopped in the taxi and were on our way. We began to talk with him and he asked what we were doing in Colombia. We began to tell him we were at soccer practice, leading bible studies, and praying for the kids. He began to ask more questions and we told him what we were doing this year and that we were here to serve and love on the people. He immediately asked us to pray over him and told us that he was a follower. We prayed for quite some time while we were heading to our next destination. As soon as we finished praying he began to tell us that he reads his bible daily and starts with Psalm 121. At that moment I knew we were in the right taxi and that is where the Lord wanted us. We got to speak truth over him and encourage him for the rest of our taxi ride. When we reached our destination he began telling us how thankful he was that we got in his taxi, how much our prayer, and words meant to him.

I love that the Lord places us exactly where He wants us to be and the pressure is never on us. We just have to follow where He leads and are solely the vessels for Him to use in whatever way He wants.
