We started up a muddy, slippery, steep trail and followed the pastor as we headed to visit people in their homes in this small community in Yanacancha.
The first house we visited is where Esteban lives. Walking up to his house we could see he was holding his stomach and we were wondering why.
He began to tell us that he had been experiencing pain from his appendix for over three years. He also began to share that his vision had gotten worse and he couldn’t read the bible anymore.
We began praying over him and there was a strange feeling in the room, an unsettling feeling that surrounded us. We knew that it was not of the Lord but of the enemy. We finished praying and asked him how he was. He said he felt a little better but not completely well.
He then began to tell us about how the enemy had been attacking him more and more recently. Even though so many unfortunate things had happened and the enemy was on the attack, he was still trusting that the Lord had a plan.
At this point we knew we needed to pray against the enemy. We prayed that anything that was not of the Lord would be cast out. We prayed scripture of him and his house. We prayed James 4:7 out loud over and over again. “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”. We prayed that the Lord would take over and that He would be the one that surrounded us, that His spirt would come and cover us.
After praying there was a shift in the atmosphere. The Lord’s presence was pouring onto all of us and consuming us. His Kingdom was coming into that room and His spirit was surrounding us.
We began praying healing over this man who was on his knees in front of us. We asked that the Lord’s will would be done in that moment. We prayed against our expectations and what we wanted the Lord to do but whatever He saw fit for this man in front of us.
After praying the man got up and said his pain was completely gone. He then proceeded to read scripture without any problems. The Lord had placed His hand upon him and physically restored him. He was beyond excited and joy exuded from him. Glory to the Father who is still working in miraculous ways today.
