Team: The Great White Sharks
Team changes happened and I am now leading an all girls team of 6! To be completely honest The Great White Sharks when originally chosen had absolutely no meaning whatsoever.
Come to find out though sharks never stop swimming. They swim when they eat. They swim when they sleep. They swim all the time and if they stop they will die. This is how we want to pursue the Lord, all the time. Pursuing Him in the hard, the easy, and the in between. I want to finish this season of my life well. I want to come in exhausted, tired, and having left everything on the table. Just like my shark friends not stopping but being in constant motion and pursuit of the Lord.

Ministry for the month: We are partnering with a dorm and a an international school. We are leading devotionals nightly with the University students that live in the dorm. This includes sharing our testimonies, worship, praying, scripture meditation, and studying scripture. During the day we are teaching English in an elementary school through songs, curriculum, games, and just building relationships with the kids.

Living Condition: We are staying in a dormitory with the University Students. We have an empty room with fans, sleeping on the floor with our sleeping pads. We have a bathroom with Western toilets, running water, and electricity. We have a shower spigot that comes out of the wall with a drain in the middle of the floor, which makes for a constant wet floor and sometimes hazardous situation.

Food: We are cooking for ourselves. We have a kitchen that we share with all of the University Students. We have one burner to use, a small fridge, no microwave, and no oven.

Local Language: Khmer

Currency: They use USD here! Woohoo!!!
They also use Cambodian Riel which is $1 to 4000 Riel.

Climate: We have entered back into the heat….more than just a little, a whole lotta heat and humidity.

Interesting Fact: One of the seven wonders of the world finds its home here, Angkor Wat. Cambodia has a very young population, with around half of its population younger than 15 years old. This is due to the Khmer Rouge rule from 1975-1979 where around 2-3 million of the 8 million population suffered from repeated blows and punishment until death.
