This past week has looked a little different here in Cambodia. They are celebrating Pchum Ben, a traditional Buddhist holiday where they celebrate the dead and give offerings to the dead at the Pagodas.
Everything in the city closes during this week and people go back to their villages to be with their families. For my team and I, this meant we would not be teaching English during the week since the school was closed and the students at the dorm would be gone for the week as well.
We decided during a week of increased idol worship and Buddhism practices we still needed to do some sort of ministry and be on guard.
One day we prayer walked for a couple of hours around where we live. In a community where people don’t even know Jesus name or what prayer looks like. What an awesome opportunity to just walk the streets proclaiming His name loud and crying out His truth.
We prayed for revival. We prayed for seeds to continue to be planted. We prayed for the people we had come in contact with over the first few weeks. We prayed for more opportunities. We prayed for the missionaries that lived day in and day out in Cambodia. We prayed without ceasing for a few hours.
We may not have seen anything come out of that day but our voices were raised loudly. The Lord heard our battle cry and He is fighting on our behalf.
