Hello family and friends,
It’s been awhile since my last blog but I have sooo much to fill all of you in on! This past Sunday I returned home from training camp after 10 long, hot days in Gainesville, Georgia. Training camp really was everything I wasn’t expecting and more. Try and picture over 200 tents, bucket showers, eating with no silverware, port-o-potties, no mirrors and very little access to your cell phone. I know it sounds like hard work, but also try to picture over 200 teenagers that love Jesus, non-stop encouragement and smiles, new friendships, and being able to feel the Holy Spirit’s presence everywhere you go!!
I will be honest, training camp was tough at times. I missed my family and friends more than I thought I would. At the start of the week I was super nervous and thought those 10 days would feel more like a year. Training camp made everything so real for me. I really will be sleeping in a tent. I will try so many new foods, like crickets (they aren’t that bad!!). And I really will have to pack and live out of a backpack. Although, training camp was hard it was designed to be that way. We all sat in long sessions that were preparing our hearts, minds, and bodies for these nine months to come.
Although training camp was a struggle at times, I left with 110% confidence that this was Gods calling for me. He is asking me to sacrifice the comfort of my bed, my home, the security of my family and much more. He is asking me to dedicate this next year of my life to Him alone and helping others. I can’t wait for it!!
Love always,
Kaylee <3
