On Tuesday my team and I went out into the community to do prayer walks. Prayer walks are when you walk around and just pray for the community or help people around the community. We got the opportunity to meet a family and help them hand wash their laundry. We were super excited to help and get as much clean as we could. At first when we started they gave us advice on what we’re doing and helped us out. As we continued to help and got to know them as best as we could with the creole we knew we were having the best time ever. A little while into it I looked up and realized a bunch of neighbors had walked over to see what was going on. We started to realize they were laughing at us and it was a little awkward. We left soon after that and continued to prayer walk. Later that evening I read the verse Isaiah 32:17 “The fruit of righteousness will be peace;the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.” As I continue to do house visits and prayer walks I have to keep this verse in mind. It is basically for me saying that real confidence comes from depending on him and not on yourself. Nothing can take that kind of confidence away it’s yours forever. So next time i may be getting laughed at during house visits or prayer walks i just have to keep telling myself this!!
