The World Race has been so so good to me. I’ve absolutely loved every second and everything we’ve done from house visits to debriefs and just sitting on buses and planes. This past weekend we had something called “Leader Development Weekend” or LDW for short!! It’s basically two days to debrief and have sessions and rest. We stayed at a hostile in Johannesburg, South Africa. If you were to ask me right now what have been my two favorite days on the race i’d have to say these two for sure. My words for how powerful and impactful don’t really come close to everything I saw or felt this weekend. Right away when we got to the hostile everything was a little odd or different I think just because it was new to me. I was super tired, hungry and jet lagged. When we got back from dinner around 7:30ish we walked into the living room area and heard someone call us over. I walked over and started talking to a women named Tallah. She was explaining how a group of college students live in the hostel and to them it’s considered a college dorm. We got to talk and learn lots about her life and get to know her really well. We also met a man name Andrew. We also got to talk to him every day and hear how he felt about America and the Gospel and everything else he felt led to share with us. The second day we went to the market and were handing out flowers and had a man named Emmaunal come up to us and talk to us about the gospel and ask us questions and asked us to pray over him and the market he worked in. We grew so close with Emmaunal in such a short amount of time through the Gospel and just by building a friendship with him. Before we left he told us how impacted he was that he wanted to name his new twins after us. I believe God definitely calls us to new situations because he knows what good will come out of it and that’s exactly what he did for me. I learned so much in these two days about loving people genuinely even if they don’t agree with our beliefs and I definitely learned more about what it means to be a disciple. LDW was one of the best weekends and I’m so happy I got to share a little piece of it with y’all!! I am currently in Botswana and love it! I live right on the delta and see the most gorgeous sunsets and rises every day. I love it here!!!
