it’s 1:05 pm and i’m on a 7-ish hour bus ride to Victoria Falls squished next to 12 packs and 11 amazing girls on a van. My 2 months here were so amazing and i’ve learned a lot. During my time here we’ve worked on an island that isn’t even an island at all, we have put up a fence and a vegetable tunnel. I’ve learned how to mix and make cement and planted tons of fruit plants. We had children’s ministry from 4-6 and then bible studies at the house. But around that the days were mostly ours. We had the power to choose to sit around and nap or watch a movie or be intentional about our time. I’ve learned tons about time management and seen what comes out of it. We got a really good amount of free time these two month because it’s rainy season and sometimes it’s just hard to have things for us to do every single day. One thing i’ve started to do during my free time is read the whole Bible. I’m halfway through Leviticus and have learned tons about God. His personality, how He’s not only a loving and gracious God but a God of Just. One other thing I’ve been learning during my free time is we can chose how to spend it however we want. We could be doing ministry outside of a scheduled ministry time. Ministry could look like hanging out with kids on the delta or walking to the neighbors to sit and listen to them talk about how excited they were for this new year. We are the light and we have the power to minister and be a light wherever we go. I’ve learned tons being here in Botswana but i’m so excited for South Africa and the next two months!!
