So I haven’t known what I should blog about lately. I have felt like nothing important has happened to share. But today that all changed. I feel like there is so much to share about Zrenjanin. We have felt like we haven’t done a lot while we have been here for a week. Now I look at it as we have done so much.

What we have done in the past week is work upstairs a bit, doing mudding on the drywall. We have done a lot of praying for the town and the people here. We have cleaned and cooked. Then Sunday Katelyn and Janice talked and after church we had a gathering. It was so much fun! They made food and we played games and talked. The fellowship brought so much joy to us all. In that moment I realized how much we aren’t here for some huge thing to happen. We are here for the people of the church. They are so amazing and take great care of us. But we are here to pour into them. They are so full of joy and the whole town is not. They are all still in a bit of an oppression. So we are here to bring life to the people here. And Sunday night really proved that to me. Just the love in the room for one another was so overwhelming. Then today we got invited to Branka’s home for coffee and cookies. She is so sweet! We got to know her and she was so welcoming. While we were there we learned a lot about the history of Serbia, and how it is still playing a key role in the people here today. While we were there I could tell that us just being there and talking to her brought her joy that she hasn’t had in a while. I think a lot of people here need that again. And I can’t wait to spread that joy all over the town. Branka also suggested that this Thursday we bake cookies and take them to the people who never leave their home. I am so excited to do that!! She is going to come over and we all will bake, and then take the cookies to fellowship with people. I can’t express how excited that makes me.

So I have learned that here we aren’t going to be doing any big miracles, but we will be spreading the love and joy of God. I think that is just as big as any miracle. I am so thankful for what we have here and what we are getting to do. God has brought us joy in so many ways and I am so glad to share that with all of the people we encounter. Thank you God for bringing us to this amazing town.
