Lately I have been having a hard time hearing God. I know He has things to tell me; and He probably has told me I just haven't been listening as diligently as I should. So that brought me to the thought of how we all hear. And 3 things came to my mind. By no means am I some sort of pro in this area, so just know that these are random thoughts in my head.

Anyways the 3 ways are, do you hear with your eyes, ears, or mouth? Hearing with your eyes is like having to see something in words before you can really hear what someone is saying. Hearing with your ears is like being able to hear something once and it all makes sense. Hearing with your mouth is like not being able to hear until you say it after it has already been said.

For myself I have learned I hear with my mouth. Sometimes I don't understand a plan or what someone tells me until I say it out loud. I know it can get frustrating to have someone reiterate what has already been said. Its almost like once I say it out loud I can see the words in front of my face. So how does that pertain to me hearing God? Well, I had to realize that before I could understand how He has been trying to talk to me. I can't talk to Him in my head. I have to talk out loud. And in what I say to Him He answers by more words coming out of my mouth. But they are his words not my own. It is crazy how he talks to us all in such different ways. We just have to be open to all possibilities. So how do you hear?
