One of the hardest things I have ever done would be trying to raise support while I am out on the field. Then to add to it having back to back months with very limited Wi-Fi access. It has been so crazy to see the way God has provided in times that I never thought I could do anything.
I got news a few weeks ago that I was on the chopping block for going home. I was so frustrated and so confused. I have been trying so hard to do everything I was told to do to keep raising support and nothing was coming in. After I found this out I was then told I was going to be in another country with no Wi-Fi where we were staying. The closest place for Wi-Fi would be a 30 minute drive away. How was I supposed to raise money if I had no contact with the world? I couldn’t believe that God was just letting me sit out in the open field like a deer ready to be shot. What was I doing wrong that no support was coming in? I am not ready to go home! Come on God, why are you doing this to me? Then as I pressed into that, I realized that I was doing this to myself. I was trying so hard on my own to raise the support that I wasn’t really asking God for help.
Now that I have had to completely rely on God to provide, things are getting better. I have no way out here to be advocating for myself, yet God is doing it for me. I am now off of the chopping block for a month, but I will be back on it soon if I don’t raise the rest of my funds. I only have 2 months left on the race and I don’t want to go home early. I have learned and grown so much. I don’t think my time has come for me to leave yet. I know that there is still so much more for me here. And, there is so much more that I can do to help people. I am so excited to go back to Africa. My heart has been there for a long time now since I went in the summer of 2012. The people there just astound me. I really can’t wait to be back and get to see what God is doing there now. I am so thankful to all of the people who have supported me so far on my race. And, I thank God in advance for how he is going to supply the rest of the funds that I need. We are all going to finish the Race strong!
