So it is no surprise that for Valentines Day us girls want to do something special. So we subtly dropped hints to the guys. (And by subtly I mean we may have asked them how they were going to treat us that day.) So the guys told us they were going to do something for us and don’t have high expectations. Since we live in an area with not much resources and limited things to do. The bar was set pretty low.
The day was coming up and we all were getting excited. The guys have been laying hints that not much will happen but they will do something. So the night before Chandler told us what he was going to do for us is clean our chacos. That is a big deal because they get pretty nasty! So thankful for that gift from him. Then on Valentines Day we came for lunch and there were flowers on the table and a poem at our seats. Jeff wrote us all a poem. We loved them! Greg put flowers for us on the table. It was so sweet of them. At this point we are thinking we have the best guys ever! After lunch we all went our ways to our ministry sites and things seemed like they were going really well.
After coming back home from our day at the orphanages we went to relax on our beds till it was time to teach our English classes. Next thing we know Jeff tells us he needs to talk to us really fast. He didn’t seem like it was something good. He proceeds to tell us that he just got done talking to people at AIM and we need to pack an over night bag. Oh crap… What in the world did we do wrong?? All of us are looking at each other in a confused daze. The he tells us that we may want to get ready like put on some make up. The confusion was getting a bit more noticeable. Finally he lets us off the hook and told us that the guys planned a night away for us for Valentines Day. Oh man we almost all jumped up and screamed. They booked a hostel for us for the night and were taking us out for dinner. We were all so overwhelmed that we didn’t know what to say or think. How amazing is that?? We were all so pleased with what they did already that day. I can’t believe they did that. After sleeping on our wood beds having a real bed sounded amazing. And wifi for the night. That was a huge bonus. We missed it so much. But they best part is we got to spend the night with our amazing guys at dinner. They bless us so much and I am so grateful to be on a team with such thoughtful guys. They really do mean the world to me. Best Valentines Day surprise! Thank you so much guys!!
